Rapper Says Rockstar Games Used His Music Without Paying Him

According to TMZ, rapper Daz Dillinger has sent a cease or desist letter to Rockstar Games, accusing them of using his music without paying him.

The site reports that Rockstar Games offered Dillinger $4,271 for the songs “C-Walk” and “Nothin’ But the Cavi Hit.”  That’s pretty small considering that Grand Theft Auto 5 made $1 billion in three day. The rapper says Rockstar has 14 days to offer a better deal. If Rockstar chooses not to offer more money, Dillinger wants the game to be recalled with all unsold copies destroyed. Hopefully it won’t come down to that with today’s ability to patch things out of games.  Dillinger told TMZ that Rockstar isn’t respecting an artist’s work, and he can’t let them get away with that.

The game has sold over 15 million copies so it’s understandable why someone would want to be paid for their work. Rockstar Games has not yet commented on the situation, but we’ll update this story as soon as they do.
